      Child protection is the safeguarding of children from violence, exploitation, abuse, and neglect. Article 19 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child provides for the protection of children in and out of the home. One of the ways to ensure this is by giving them quality education, the fourth of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in addition to other child protection systems. of the Child and the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child and for connected purposes [Act No. 8 of , L.N. 23/, Act No. 8 of , Act No. 12 of ] PART I – PRELIMINARY 1. Short title and commencement This Act may be cited as the Children Act.

      This Act protects children's privacy by giving parents tools to control what information is collected from their children online. The Act requires the Commission to promulgate regulations requiring operators of commercial websites and online services directed to children under 13 or knowingly collecting personal information from children under 13 to: (a) notify parents of their information.   The Children's Protection Act with the full title - "An Act to Provide for the Protection of Children" (Act no. 60 Vic. No. 26) - applied to boys under 14 years of age and girls under 16 years of age. It was an offence to 'ill treat, neglect, abandon or expose a child' in such a way as to cause unnecessary suffering or health problems.

      The main child protection act is the federal National Child Protection Act of , although many similar state acts have been enacted.
